  • Qualifications Summary

Mr. Garrison directs and coordinates IAQ Consultants' Indoor Air Quality program. Robert also serves as primary investigator in commercial building investigations. Robert is directly involved in risk evaluation, sampling strategies, data interpretations and final documentation. Robert's competence in analytical chemistry, industrial hygiene and environmental mycology provide a technical background uniquely suited to indoor air quality assessments.

Before founding IAQ Consultants, Robert was Program Director of Indoor Air Quality for Southwestern Laboratories. Prior to that position, Robert held a Senior Scientist position as an analytical research chemist for the Clorox Company in Oakland, California. Finally, Robert was a principal co-founder of Mycotech Biological, Inc., a nationally recognized bioanalytical laboratory intimately involved with Indoor Air Quality analyses.

Robert has studied various types of fungal organisms during the last twenty years and since 1987 has focused his work and research on the role of fungi in indoor environments. These research projects examined relative airborne populations of aeroallergens and other medically significant fungi and remediation techniques to deal with indoor contamination for both residential and commercial indoor environments. This research has culminated in open literature publications in both medical and environmental journals as well as a U.S. patented bioaerosol sample device.

Robert provides expert witness opinion dealing with both chemical and biological exposure assessments.
